COMPUTER DREAMS – COMPUTER DREAMS [FREE ALBUM]

Based on name alone Computer Dreams aka Midnight Television reminds me of Memory Tapes aka Memory Cassette aka Weird Tapes. When it comes to the music, it reminds me more of something that could have been playing in the background over Ariel Pink’s songs on his album Worn Copy. Computer Dreams’ self-titled album has that classic B-movie soundtrack feel that I never tire of, full of what sounds like filtered samples of things that seem like children of the era when getting your tape destroyed by your ghetto blaster was a legitimate concern.

Darwin Deez - Radar Detector (The Loving Hand Remix)

You’re probably sick of sites lauding ‘summery music,’ but really it’s the only way to introduceDarwin Deez remixed by Tim Goldsworthy (aka The Loving Hand or sometimes Thee Loving Hand). “Radar Detector”’s tick-tock beats, calypso keys and off-kilter vocals will remind you what this season’s indiepop is truly about—getting burnt dancing on a searing rooftop and loving every stupid second.

Toro Y Moi drops new EP cover art and track….

Carpark will release indie darling, Toro Y Moi's new EP on September 13th.  The artwork above was recently lobbed to the masses, along with a cover of Alexander O'Neal and Cherelle's "Saturday Love."  You can head over to Chaz Bundick's website and purchase his prior release, Underneath the Pine if you haven't yet, and while you're there, check out some information on the EP.  According to the initial post at Pitchfork, he'll be unveiling some of the orginal material from the EP at the festival this weekend.  This particular cover track doesn't stray too far from Toro Y Moi's funky trademark of electro beats and flowering synths.

The War on Drugs “Come to the City”

“Come to the City” is one of those songs that makes you feel like you’re the star of your own movie, reaching your own personal denouement while doing mundane things—triumphing over adversity, as you check your email, etc. etc. It’s especially helpful in the late afternoon, when you’re just not feeling up for anything and you’ve got a mountain of paper to sift through. You can do it! Just press play. The War on Drugs new album, Slave Ambient is out August 16th
